Why Amazing Singing is Changing the Choir Scene in BC
Amazing Singing is built around music that people genuinely enjoy singing.
Instead of formal choral music, our repertoire focuses on recognizable pop and rock songs from the 1950s through today. Rehearsals are engaging and supportive, designed to help singers feel confident as they learn harmony parts step by step.
Our music is performed a cappella, meaning singers create the rhythm, harmony, and energy together with only their voices. It creates a powerful sound that feels completely different from singing along to a backing track, karaoke or traditional piano accompaniment. Contemporary a cappella groups and pop choirs have become increasingly popular because they combine strong harmonies with familiar music people already love listening to.
Some members join because they miss singing. Others join because they have always wanted to try singing, but never felt experienced enough. Many simply want a creative outlet and a reason to laugh, learn, and connect with people every week.
There is no pressure to be perfect. The focus is on enjoying the music and growing together as a chorus.

We provide learning tracks, vocal guidance, and rehearsal support so members can learn their parts at their own pace. Many singers are surprised by how quickly they improve once they start singing regularly with a group.

New to Choir Singing?
Joining a singing group can feel intimidating at first, especially if you haven’t sung with a group before.
That’s why Amazing Singing focuses on creating a supportive atmosphere where people can learn comfortably and build confidence over time. Many current members joined with little or no previous choir experience.
You do not need a polished voice to get started. Rehearsals are designed to help singers gradually become more comfortable with harmonies, rhythm, vocal blend, and performing with others.

Looking for Tenors, Baritones & Basses
We are especially interested in welcoming more male voices into the choir.
If you sing tenor, baritone, or bass, or think you might, we would love to hear from you. Male singers play an important role in creating the rich harmony and full sound that makes contemporary choir music so exciting.
Not sure what vocal part you sing? We can help with that, too.
Many men assume they “can’t sing” simply because they have never sung in a group before. Choir is one of the best environments for developing pitch, confidence, and vocal strength because you learn alongside other singers rather than performing alone.

Led by Vocal Coach & Performer Sylvain Vallée
Amazing Singing is led by Sylvain Vallée, a Canadian vocal coach, performer, and choir director passionate about helping everyday people discover their voices.
His approach combines contemporary music, practical vocal coaching, and a relaxed rehearsal atmosphere that helps singers feel comfortable while continuing to improve, whether they are experienced performers or complete beginners.
Singer/songwriter, composer, producer, multi-instrumentalist, conductor, audio engineer and renaissance man. Sylvain Vallee is one of Canada’s conduits of musical energies in our vibrant music scene.
